What is the Townsville Business Women's Circle (TBWC)?

The Townsville Business Women’s Circle (TBWC) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to connecting, empowering, celebrating, and educating women in business or aspiring to be in business. Whether you’re a student, young professional, business owner, or career-focused individual, TBWC offers opportunities for growth, mentorship, and community engagement.

Who can join TBWC?

TBWC is open to all women, including students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and established business owners. We welcome any woman who is seeking to connect, grow, and develop personally and professionally.

What are the membership levels and costs?

We offer several membership levels to suit different needs. You should head on over to our membership page to get all the details!

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

Members enjoy free access to our monthly Business Bites networking and learning events, member’s only offers provided by other members within our portal. As a member, you will receive discounted ticket prices to our networking and Christmas events too!

As a member, you’ll gain access to apply for our Mercedes Mentor Circles, where you can receive one-on-one mentorship. You’ll also have opportunities to apply for the Marsh TBWC Education Bursary, which provides financial support for educational and professional development.

How do I apply for the Marsh TBWC Education Bursary?

The bursary is available to women and girls, 15 years and above, pursuing education or professional development opportunities. You can apply by completing the bursary application form on our website during the application period. Keep an eye on our Education Bursary page for updates on application deadlines. Please note, you do not have to be a member to apply!

What are the Mercedes Mentoring Circles?

The Mercedes Mentor Circles are a cornerstone of TBWC membership. They offer monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions with experienced women in business across six months. These sessions are designed to help members grow both personally and professionally by providing tailored advice, guidance, and support.

How often do you host networking events?

We host our Business Bites events (almost) monthly. These bites are free for members and provide a fantastic opportunity to network with other women in business, learn from industry leaders, and participate in engaging workshops. Oh, you can also attend if you’re not a member for a fee but if you plan to attend several across the year the membership is actually more cost friendly!

What are the Townsville Business Women Awards?

The Townsville Business Women Awards are a bi-annual event that celebrate the leadership, success, and contributions of women in business within our community. It’s a special time for us to reflect on the achievements of women in our community and highlight the impact they are making in the region.

How can I get involved if I'm new to networking?

Don’t worry, our events are designed to be warm, welcoming, and approachable, even for those new to networking! We encourage first-timers to attend our Business Bites events, where you’ll find a supportive environment. Plus, we’realways saving a seat for you, so feel free to attend and join the conversation.

Can I join if I don't own a business?

Absolutely! TBWC is not just for business owners. We cater to women at all stages of their professional journey, including students, young professionals, and anyone focused on career growth or personal development.

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member is simple! Just head over to our Membership Page, select the membership level that best fits you, and complete the sign-up process. Once you’re a member, you’ll gain access to all of our events, programs, and exclusive member benefits.

How can my company get involved with TBWC?

If you’re looking to get your company involved, we offer Corporate Memberships for businesses with multiple employees. Additionally, companies can become sponsors for events such as the Townsville Business Women Awards or provide support through our Education Bursary program. Is TBWC a charity or a business?

TBWC is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a volunteer committee of local women leaders. All committee members are paying members, just like you, ensuring a shared commitment to the success of the organisation.
